Walking Tour of San Francisco

Start on Market and walk towards the Ferry Building. Make a sharp left on California St. Make a right on Sampson St. and continue past Broadway to Levi Plaza. Make a left on Filbert St. This section of Filbert St. is less than 100 yards Long and dead-ends at a steep and long set of stairs. Walk the Filbert Street Stairs to Montgomery St.. Option: Go right on Montgomery St. if you want to locate another set of stairs which will take you to Coit Tower. Go Left on Montgomery St. if you have had enough stair climbing for one day and make a right on Green St. It's all down hill and make a left on Columbus Ave. Continue on Columbus and make a right on Grant Ave. through China Town. Make a right on Bush for one block and then make a right on Stockton St. Stop and shop at Union Square or continue to Market St.

Best View of San Francisco

Drive on Interstate 80 towards the Bay Bridge. Head towards Oakland. Stay in the left hand lane and take the Treasure Island Exit. Continue down a long grade to a large parking area that looks back towards San Francisco. Great for a daytime or nighttime photograph of San Francisco.

Muir Woods - Sausalito - Headlands - The Wharf

Get to Franklin Street and head towards the Bay. Make a left on Lombard St. and continue towards the Golden Gate Bridge, U.S. 101- North On ramp. Continue across the Golden Gate Bridge towards San Rafael. Exit at Highway 1 towards Stinson Beach. Follow signs to Muir Woods.

Return Trip: Continue on U.S. 101 South towards San Fransisco. Exit on Bridgeway in Sausalito. Continue on Bridgeway through Sausalito. Bridgeway eventually changes to Alexander Ave. Continue on Alexander Ave., under U.S. 101 and veer right on Bunker Rd. to the Marin Headlands. Enjoy the absolute stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. To return to San Francisco, merely drive back down Bunker Rd. and head South on U.S. 101and back over the Golden Gate Bridge. Exit towards the Marina District / Lombard St. in San Francisco. Continue on Lombard and drive down the famous winding portion of Lombard St. At the bottom of the hill, make a left on Hayes St. Continue on Hayes and make a left on Bay St. Continue on Bay and Make a right on Polk St. Continue on Polk and Make a right on Beach St. Suggest parking in the Ghiradelli Square Garage. Enjoy Ghiradelli Square, The Cannery and Pier 39.
